Clown members of Clowns International are required to obtain a Criminal Records Bureau certificate of clearance within six months of joining the club. Those members who are Friends of Clowns also need such certificates but only if they are to help the club at events where they may be selling club merchandise or if assisting in any C.I. activity at the event.

Arrangements have been made with a company that specialises in undertaking such checks. It should be understood that only by belonging to a recognised organisation such as Clowns International can such certificates be obtained. They are not issued to individuals in a personal situation.

If you have an interest in the art of clowning but you are either not ready to take up the art or have no wish to do so. If so, the Friends of Clowns is there for you.
